StoreWorld
Check it out for yourself: StoreWorldStoreWorld is a multi-disciplinary project at RIT with the goal to make a business simulation game that can be used to teach the business 101 concepts to students in a fun and interactive way. Three colleges collaborate on StoreWorld they are E. Philip Saunders College of Business, College of Imaging Arts and Sciences and B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. Each college worked together to create a fun and educational experience that was used at RIT to teach students the way a business operates and runs.
This is a good article describing StoreWorld. http://www.rit.edu/news/magazine_story.php?id=49003My personal contributions to the project included Artificial intelligence(AI) design and implementation, interface programming, general debugging, and managing client and database interactions. My main focus was on the AI design. I worked with professors and students from the College of Business in order to make sure that the AI would act and react in an appropriate manner. This was accomplished by creating a micro economy in each world that stores occupy and creating a supply and demand model that forces the player to adjust to their competitions choices.
